Dmitry Krapivny (1904, Tbilisi - 1940, Leningrad) was a prominent painter and graphic artist. He studied at the Art School in Odessa and then continued his education at the Leningrad VHUTEIN under the guidance of Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin and Alexander Savinov. In Leningrad, Krapivny joined the group "Masters of Analytical Art" led by Pavel Filonov and actively participated in exhibitions, including the First City-wide Exhibition of Fine Arts and several other significant expositions.

Krapivny is known for his works done in Filonov's style, including portraits, nudes, and landscapes. Posthumous exhibitions of his art were held in Milan and Moscow in the early 1990s. His works are preserved in many museum collections, including the State Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg and the Karakalpak State Museum of Arts.
