
Eugen Jettel

Eugen Jettel was an Austrian painter born on March 17, 1845, in Johnsdorf. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under the renowned artist Eduard von Engerth. In 1870, Jettel traveled to Italy, where he spent several years studying and painting in Florence, Rome, and Naples. After returning to Austria, Jettel settled in Graz, where he became a professor at the local art school. He was known for his portraits, landscapes, and genre paintings, which often depicted everyday life in rural areas.
Jettel's work was exhibited in various art exhibitions throughout Austria, Germany, and Italy, and he received numerous awards and accolades for his artistic achievements. Unfortunately, Jettel's promising career was cut short when he died at the young age of 56 on August 1, 1901, in Lussingrande. However, his legacy lives on through his captivating paintings, which continue to be admired by art enthusiasts around the world.
