Iosif Krachkovsky was born in Warsaw. He received his artistic education at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, under the guidance of the renowned Russian landscape painter Mikhail Klodt. Krachkovsky's talent and dedication to his craft were evident in his works, particularly his landscapes "Morning" and "Evening," which earned him both large and small gold medals and the prestigious title of first-degree artist. Seeking further artistic improvement, he embarked on travels to Germany, Italy, Spain, and France.

Krachkovsky possessed a remarkable talent and a keen understanding of the art market's trends. He actively participated in exhibitions in Russia and abroad, showcasing his works and organizing solo exhibitions in prominent locations such as St. Petersburg, Paris, and Nice. The success of his paintings at these exhibitions attracted the attention of Russian and European collectors, leading to significant commissions from avid landscape enthusiasts.
