Kapitolina Rumyantseva (Vilner), a Soviet artist, was born on December 16, 1925, in Leningrad, the USSR. She embarked on her artistic journey from 1945 to 1950, studying at the Leningrad Artistic and Pedagogical School. After completing her education, she dedicated herself to teaching art in schools located in Moscow and the Vasileostrovsky districts of Leningrad from 1950 to 1969. In 1969, Rumyantseva shifted her focus to working as an artist specializing in easel and monumental painting in the workshop of pictorial and decorative arts. Throughout the 1950s and beyond, she passionately pursued her creative endeavors, primarily exploring the genres of landscape and still life. Rumyantseva's participation in exhibitions commenced in 1970, and three years later, she became a member of the Leningrad branch of the USSR Union of Artists.

Rumyantseva's artistic reputation flourished with her captivating still lifes featuring flowers and fruit. Her painting style evolved to emphasize decorative elements and vibrant colors while preserving an inherent interest in the subject matter, meticulously capturing its texture and material essence. Her images exuded consistent lyricism and poetic resonance. Notable works by Rumyantseva include "Still Life with Fruit" (1965), "Still Life with Melon" (1968), "Still Life with a White Cup" (1969), "Iris" (1970), "Still Life with Orange," "Peonies" (1971), "Still Life with Apple Branches" (1973), "In the Garden in Early Spring," "Cloudy Day," "Still Life with Fish" (all 1974), and others.

Kapitolina Rumyantseva passed away on August 8, 2002, in Saint Petersburg, leaving behind a remarkable artistic legacy. Her works continue to be showcased in museums and cherished in private collections across Russia, France, the USA, Norway, Belgium, Italy, and numerous other countries.
