
Nikolay Bublikov

Nikolay Bublikov was a painter, marine artist, and member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. He was born in Nezhin in 1871 and studied at the Academy of Arts under Ivan Shishkin and Arkhip Kuindzhi. Bublikov specialized in landscapes and maritime-themed paintings, characterized by the use of broad spatial perspective and tonal color development. He was the first artist to depict the combat activities of the Soviet Navy.
Bublikov participated in exhibitions from 1897 onwards, and his painting "The Icebreaker Krasin" was exhibited in the Soviet pavilion at the 1939 World's Fair in New York City. His works are housed in the Russian Museum, the Central Naval Museum in St. Petersburg, as well as in museums and private collections both in Russia and abroad.
