Yuri Vasnetsov, a renowned people's artist and illustrator, was born on April 4, 1900 in the historic city of Vyatka into a family of priests. Growing up in a vibrant environment, Yuri's childhood memories were filled with the colorful sights and sounds of Vyatka, fr om lively spring streams to the joyful Whistling fair with its variety of crafts and toys.
These childhood experiences left a lasting impression on Yuri's artistic sensibilities, inspiring him to create captivating drawings that beautifully depicted Russian folk tales, nursery rhymes, and childhood delights. He breathed new life into familiar stories, infusing them with vibrant and original imagery.
